My new piece for Action Figure Fury is live. I interview Ed Catto of Captain Action Enterprises about the original super-hero action figure what what the future holds for the good Captain, Action Boy and Dr. Evil.
Action Figure Fury: Captain Action is widely regarded as the first super-hero action figure and is primarily known for taking on the identity of other heroes. Why do you think the Captain has endured for all these years?
Ed Catto: There are a few reasons why Captain Action has endured for so many years. At the core of it – it’s all about boys playing tin soldiers.  The soldiers have changed, but that’s at the core of it all.   But having said that, I do believe there’s more to it.
Imagination plays a big part too. Captain Action, like Lego, is a brand that fans, both young and old, can playwith.  And it can be customized.
